Electric Fence Workshop

The summer of 2022 has been a particularly bad year for bears being present in towns across the state of Colorado, including some areas that almost never have bear issues like Longmont and Niwot. These two towns are located much farther east than what is usually deemed as bear territory. Many farmers in this area were not prepared for bear activity and unfortunately had a lot of damage to property. In response, we decided to help local beekeepers acquire and put up their electric fences.

Our first demonstration workshop was on October 1st, 2022 at Squeak and Squawk farm. We used materials provided to the owner of the farm by Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the assembly took an hour and a half between seven people. Overall it was a successful demonstration and we hope to do many more in the future!
